Hans-Peter Weikard is an Associate Professor in Environmental Economics and Natural Resources at Wageningen University. His research focuses on international environmental agreements, climate policy design, and sustainable resource management. He has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles and serves on editorial boards of journals like International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Law and Economics and Water Economics and Policy . Key research interests include greenhouse gas emissions reduction strategies, public goods provision, and cost-effectiveness analysis of environmental policies. He actively collaborates on projects addressing deforestation in Indonesia, phosphorus recycling, and flood risk management in delta regions. Current PhD supervision includes studies on delta plan social welfare, waste management cycle impacts, and energy subsidy reforms in Indonesia. His work integrates game theory, econometric modeling, and policy analysis to address global environmental challenges.
