Cindy Zawadzki is an Associate Professor at NEOMA Business School since 2014, specializing in Management Control Systems and SME performance. She previously served as a visiting professor at Renmin University of China (2017-2019) and held a role as Management Controller in a personal equipment company prior to academia. Her research focuses on performance management in SMEs, organizational sociology, and control systems implementation challenges, often employing structuration theory and translation theory frameworks. Dr. Zawadzki holds a Doctorate in Economic, Social and Management Sciences with a specialization in Management Control. She teaches Management Control across all academic levels (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD) and in continuing education programs. Her work has been published in journals like Finance Contrôle Stratégie , Revue Française de Gestion , and Comptabilité Contrôle Audit , with notable contributions to understanding control system adoption in SMEs and the sociological dimensions of organizational management. Her research has explored topics such as fraud risk management in family businesses, digitalization impacts on manufacturing control systems, and emotional labor in palliative care organizations. She has presented at international conferences including the Asia-Pacific Management Accounting Association (Tokyo, 2018) and the International Council for Small Business (Taiwan, 2018). She co-authored textbooks on Management Control and contributed chapters to volumes like Le Grand Livre de l'économie PME (2014).
