Dr. Oana Andrei is a Senior Lecturer in Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, affiliated with the Centre for Computing Science Education , Education and Practice (EAP) section , and Formal Analysis, Theory and Algorithms (FATA) section . She previously served as a Research Fellow under Prof. Muffy Calder on EPSRC-funded projects including S4, Populations, VPS, and SIGNAL. Her research expertise spans 20+ years in Formal Methods for system modeling, including Stochastic process algebra Markov models Probabilistic model checking Graph rewriting systems with interdisciplinary applications in Computational Biology, Human-Computer Interaction, and Socially Responsible Computing. Recent publications focus on software engineering education and algorithmic pedagogy , examining topics like Work-based learning programs Reflective practice frameworks Pair programming methodologies Socially responsible computing integration She contributes to educational innovation through degree-level apprenticeships and serves as Deputy Director of the Graduate Apprenticeship in Software Engineering .
