Dr. Chunxia Jiang is a Senior Lecturer (equivalent to Associate Professor) in Finance at the Business School, University of Aberdeen , where she serves as Head of the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Real Estate and Programme Lead for the MSc International Business and Finance. She holds a PhD in Economics and an MSc in Money, Banking and Finance from Middlesex University Business School, UK. PhD in Economics – Middlesex University Business School, UK MSc in Money, Banking and Finance – Middlesex University Business School, UK ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) FHEA (Fellow of the Higher Education Academy) Her research centers on banking and financial markets , with a focus on bank efficiency, financial stability, credit markets, corporate finance, and investment efficiency. Recently, her interests have expanded to green finance, climate risk, FinTech, and shadow banking , particularly in the context of China and global financial systems. She has published in leading journals such as the Journal of Banking & Finance , Journal of Financial Stability , and Energy Economics , and authored a monograph on Chinese banking reform. The most recent publications reflect a strong trend toward environmental finance, digital transformation in banking, and global financial integration . Her work combines empirical analysis with policy relevance, especially in emerging markets and China’s evolving financial landscape. Scientific Awards and Honors: ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) FHEA (Fellow of the Higher Education Academy) Dr. Jiang has secured multiple competitive research grants as Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Investigator (CI) from the British Academy, Royal Society of Edinburgh, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China . She actively supervises PhD students in finance, particularly in climate risk, green finance, and FinTech. She is also involved in international collaborations, holding visiting positions at the Bank of Finland and several Chinese universities including Chongqing University, Beijing University of Technology, and Hainan University. Research Labs and Teams: She is affiliated with research centers at the University of Aberdeen, including the Centre for Real Estate Research and participates in interdisciplinary initiatives such as the Africa-Asia Centre for Sustainability and projects on financial systems supporting sustainable growth in China.
