Inmaculada Exposito Ramos is a Professor at the Department of Physical, Chemical and Natural Systems, Universidad Pablo de Olavide. Her research focuses on structural geology, tectonics, and geodynamics, particularly strain partitioning in arcuate orogens. Education: PhD in Geology from Universidad de Granada (2000). Her work investigates deformation mechanisms in fold-and-thrust belts, with a focus on the Gibraltar Arc. Using analog modeling, she studies how detachment heterogeneities influence progressive arc formation and strain distribution. Recent publications highlight tectonic strain partitioning trends in Mediterranean arcs, emphasizing the interplay between arc-parallel stretching and arc-perpendicular shortening. Key subfields include fault systems analysis, orogenic curvature dynamics, and neotectonic activity. Current affiliations include the TIERRA Y ATMOSFERA research group (Natural Resources, Energy, and Environment) and the PAIDI research areas.
