Roger Moore is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Physics within the Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta. His research focuses on particle physics, particularly neutrinos and astrophysical phenomena beyond the Standard Model. He leads the IceCube Neutrino Experiment at the South Pole, co-chairs its trigger-filter board, and is involved in developing the Pacific Ocean Neutrino Experiment (P-ONE) with international collaborators. Education: BA (1992), MA (1996), and PhD (1996) from the University of Cambridge, UK. Postdoctoral work at PPARC (1996-1997) and Michigan State University (1997-2003). Joined UofA in 2003, advancing from Assistant to Full Professor by 2013. Research interests include high-energy neutrino interactions, searches for dark matter, quantum gravity effects, and neutrino emission from cosmic sources like galaxy clusters and X-ray binaries. Recent publications emphasize IceCube data analyses for transient neutrino emissions, sterile neutrinos, and multi-messenger astrophysics. Awards include the PPARC Postdoctoral Fellowship (1996-1997). His work contributed to the Higgs boson discovery via the ATLAS Experiment at CERN and continues with cutting-edge neutrino observatories like IceCube-Gen2 and P-ONE. Lab affiliations include IceCube Collaboration, P-ONE, and past contributions to ATLAS. His team develops advanced reconstruction algorithms and detector technologies for neutrino science.
