Murukarthick Jayakodi is an Assistant Professor in Plant Genomics at Texas A&M University's College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. His research focuses on crop genetics, genomic analysis, and improving agricultural productivity through translational genomics. He holds a B.Tech in Bioinformatics from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (2010), and M.S. and Ph.D. in Crop Science and Biotechnology from Seoul National University (2014-2018). His work integrates high-throughput genotyping (e.g., GBS), genetic mapping, and functional genomics to address challenges in crop improvement. His recent publications highlight advancements in barley domestication genetics, structural variation analysis, and disease resistance locus identification in core collections. These studies emphasize translational applications for breeding programs and biodiversity conservation. As a member of Texas A&M AgriLife, Dr. Jayakodi collaborates on projects to translate genomic insights into practical solutions for agricultural sustainability.
