Hemin Omer Latif is a full-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing and Informatics at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) . He previously served as a Department Chair at AUIS and has held roles such as IT Specialist at the UN World Health Organization , Mobile Product Engineer at Huawei Technologies Ltd. , and Research Assistant at the Center for Innovation and Technology Exploitation (CITE) in the UK. His work includes multimodal teleoperation systems using eye-gaze tracking, plate number recognition algorithms, and educational system analyses. His publications span robotics, social networks, and educational reform, with key trends including human-robot interaction, machine learning applications, and innovation in higher education. Notable collaborations include research with Nasser Sherkat and Ahmad Lotfi on gaze-driven robot control systems. Student Mentorship: He has supervised capstone projects, including City Award of Sulaimani winners and Microsoft ImagineCup (2012) top teams.
