Walter Szeliga is a Professor and Department Chair at Central Washington University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado (2010). His research focuses on seismology, GPS, and InSAR technologies, with emphasis on earthquake early warning systems, crustal deformation monitoring, and natural hazards mitigation. Dr. Szeliga leads efforts in integrating real-time geodetic data streams for disaster response and has contributed to the development of ShakeAlert® systems.
