Prof. Meltem Ergün is a full Professor at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine Gastroenterology . She completed her medical degree at İstanbul University Faculty of Medicine (1996), specialized in Internal Medicine at Taksim Training and Research Hospital (2001), and pursued a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Gazi University (2007). Research Focus : Viral hepatitis (HBV/HCV), liver fibrosis, endoscopic interventions, colorectal polyps, pancreaticobiliary disorders, and autoimmune liver diseases. Key Publications : 15+ peer-reviewed articles on topics like endoscopic ultrasound in pediatrics, non-invasive fibrosis scoring, prebiotic nutrition in pancreatitis, and virological predictors in hepatitis C therapy. Clinical Expertise : Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasonography, and management of gastrointestinal bleeding. Academic Contributions : Authored two scientific books including Clinical Practice in Critical Conditions (Yeditepe University Press, 2015). Regularly presents at national and international conferences such as the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver and Falk Symposium .
