Ulrika Dahl is Professor of Gender Studies at Uppsala University's Center for Gender Research since 2018. Her work bridges critical race theory, queer kinship studies, and feminist epistemology within Scandinavian and transnational contexts. Her educational background includes a BA Magna Cum Laude in Anthropology and Gender Studies from Lawrence University (1994) and a Ph.D. in Anthropology and Women's Studies from UC Santa Cruz (2004). She has held positions at Södertörn University (2004-2016), Stockholm University, and served as Fulbright Hildeman Fellow at Gustavus Adolphus College (2011). Dahl's research centers on three interconnected strands: 1) Queer kinship and race in assisted reproduction (currently leading the Forte-funded project Scandinavian Border Crossings with Rikke Andreassen); 2) Anti-gender movements and conservative feminism (within Swedish Research Council's Future of Democracy environment); 3) Creative writing as feminist methodology. Her approach combines decolonial pedagogy with intersectional analysis of whiteness, affect, and reproductive politics. Her publication trends reveal consistent engagement with queer kinship formations (35% of recent work), anti-gender discourse (25%), creative methodologies (20%), and critical whiteness studies (20%). The interdisciplinary nature spans gender studies, anthropology, sociology of reproduction, and critical race theory. Fulbright Hildeman Fellow (2011) Associate Editor, European Journal of Women's Studies (2014-present) Former Senior Editor, lambda nordica (2009-2020) Dahl supervises PhD and MA students at Uppsala while co-organizing the Queer Research Group and participating in the Family and Kinship Research Group. She coordinates interdisciplinary networks including the CIRCUS-funded Nature as Culture initiative and is affiliated with the WOMHER research school on women's mental health. Current collaborations span South Africa, Brazil, and Southern Europe focusing on decolonial feminisms.
