Sylvie Deffayet Davrout, PhD, is a Professor of Management and Director of the Leadership Development Chair at EDHEC Business School's Management & Humanities faculty. As a clinical psychologist and coach, she specializes in leadership dynamics and has pioneered the Learning Teams pedagogy – an approach focused on empowering managerial authority through inductive and collaborative methods. Her research examines self-leadership, followership, and the psychological foundations of organizational authority. Her educational background combines clinical psychology with advanced management studies, enabling interdisciplinary research into leadership development. Research interests center on: Reconstructing internal models of authority and followership Developing reflective management practices Emotional intelligence in decision-making Innovative pedagogies for leadership education Recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate a focus on emotional intelligence in leadership decisions, healthcare leadership applications, and ethical authority frameworks.
