Salvatore Musumeci is an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin , Department of Energy (DENERG). He is a member of the Interdepartmental Center PEIC - Power Electronics Innovation Center. His research focuses on power electronics converters, electrical machines, and drives, with applications in energy conversion, renewable energy systems, and GaN FET technologies. He teaches courses in Power Electronics , Electric Drives , and PCB Design at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His research projects include the MetSuperCap initiative for supercapacitor metrology and the ISoREC project for renewable energy communities. He has supervised PhD students in high-efficiency power converter applications and holds patents related to braking systems and power electronics. Recent publications emphasize GaN FET-based inverters, wireless power transfer, and fusion energy systems. He serves on the editorial board of ENERGIES and actively participates in conferences like the International Conference on Smart Energy Systems and Technologies (SEST). Musumeci leads research projects funded by EU and commercial contracts, focusing on energy storage systems, maritime applications, and advanced power electronic devices. His work bridges theoretical advancements with practical implementations in sustainable energy and transportation systems.
