Simon Neill is a Professor in Physical Oceanography at Bangor University’s School of Ocean Sciences, specializing in marine renewable energy, particularly tidal and wave energy resource characterization. He leads the MSc in Marine Renewable Energy and chairs IEC Technical Specification 62600-201 on tidal energy assessment. His research spans energy resource optimization, environmental impacts, and coastal management. He has secured £multi-million grants, including the £708k NERC-funded Southeast Asia Plastics project and the £7M European Regional Development Fund Smart Efficient Energy Centre.
