Prof. Dr. Bettina Kohlrausch is Professor for Societal Transformation and Digitalization at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Paderborn University. Her office is located at Pohlweg 55, Room N2.307, 33098 Paderborn, Germany. Her research focuses on: Analysis of measures for low-qualified youth in the transition system Qualification requirements in the changing work environment due to digitalization Emergence of new patterns of social inequality Social situations and political attitudes, particularly regarding right-wing populism Professor Kohlrausch examines gatekeeping processes in vocational training, especially for youth with migration backgrounds, and investigates how social and economic insecurities relate to political orientations. Her work often employs panel data to analyze complex relationships between objective and subjective social positions and political attitudes. Current research projects include: "Bildungsverläufe und betriebliche Gatekeepingprozesse" (Educational pathways and corporate gatekeeping processes), funded by Hans-Böckler-Stiftung (Nov 2017 - June 2019) "Differenzierte Lebenslagen und soziale Unsicherheiten im Arbeitskontext als Ursache rechtspopulistischer Orientierungen" (Different living conditions and social insecurities in the work context as causes of right-wing populist orientations) Professor Kohlrausch has previously worked on projects examining qualification requirements in the changing work environment, particularly focusing on how digitalization affects organizational processes and qualification demands.
