Dr. Kennedy actively mentors numerous graduate students, including six current PhD candidates and multiple former PhD and MS students who have completed their degrees under his supervision. His research group maintains strong connections with industry through various grants supporting the development of computational tools for aerospace design. The SMDO group also engages in educational outreach through 'Optimization through Intuition,' providing accessible learning modules about optimization concepts for middle and high school students, demonstrating Dr. Kennedy's commitment to broadening participation in engineering education.
