Michelle Tomlinson is a Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Reading, where she serves as Third Year Lead, Module Convenor for AA3DS5 and AA3DS6, and Departmental Director of Academic Tutoring for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. She is based at the London Road Campus and is actively engaged in architectural education and practice. Her educational background includes a BArch in Architecture from the University of Manchester, a BA (Hons) in Architecture from the University of Liverpool, and a PGDip in Professional Practice in Architecture (RIBA/ARB Part 3) from the University of Westminster. Michelle's research and professional interests focus on architectural pedagogy , urban acoustics , soundscapes , and social value in design . She explores the integration of sound mapping and analogue sound representation in urban environments, emphasizing wellbeing and community engagement. Her work bridges architectural practice and education, with a commitment to high-quality, socially responsible design.
