Yifan Wang is a Lecturer in Engineering at the Warsash Maritime School, Solent University, and a member of the Centre for Marine Sustainability. His research focuses on marine sustainability, alternative fuels, and environmental life cycle assessment in maritime contexts. He has contributed to projects like the Innovate UK-funded Zero Emission Foiling Trimaran initiative, exploring electric propulsion and zero-emission technologies for waterway transport. Key research interests include decarbonization strategies for shipping, economic feasibility of alternative fuels, and lifecycle analysis of marine power systems. His work combines experimental methodologies with policy analysis to address challenges in transitioning maritime sectors toward sustainable practices. Wang has presented at international conferences, including oral presentations on lifecycle assessment of inland ship decarbonization and power system configurations. His collaborative projects often involve industry partners to bridge research with commercial maritime operations.
