Mark Somoza is a faculty member at the Technical University of Munich and University of Vienna , holding positions as Group Leader in Transcriptomics and Proteomics Chemistry (since 2019) and Associate Professor (since 2016). His research focuses on molecular food systems biology, transcriptomics, proteomics, and high-throughput nucleic acid synthesis technologies. Key fields: biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, and food systems science. Grants & Projects include three major Austrian Science Fund (FWF) grants (2012–2023) for high-density RNA/DNA microarray synthesis, totaling over €1 million. Teaching spans scientific writing, biotechnology, and bioanalytical methods at University of Vienna and TUM.
