Thomas W McDade is a Professor in Medical Social Sciences (Determinants of Health) and the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University. His research focuses on biosocial determinants of health, inflammation, epigenetics, and health disparities, with a particular emphasis on global health studies in the Philippines and LGBTQ+ populations.

His work bridges social and biological sciences, examining how early life experiences, social environments, and ecological factors shape long-term health outcomes. Key areas include inflammation, epigenetic aging, and cardiometabolic health.
