Professor Bernardine Evaristo is a Nobel laureate and Booker Prize-winning novelist, poet, and academic at Brunel University in the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences , Department of English and Creative Writing . Her work redefines African diaspora literature through hybrid forms like verse fiction, blending history, identity, and experimental narrative. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing from Goldsmiths, University of London, and studied at Rose Bruford College. Her research interests span Black British identity , feminist critique , queer diaspora , and reclaiming marginalized histories , evident in novels like Girl, Woman, Other and Mr Loverman . Her 15 most recent publications include Manifesto: On Never Giving Up (2022), Look Again: Feminism (2021), and the Black Britain: Writing Back series (2021–2024).
