Olle Anderbrant is a Professor at Lund University, serving as Principal Investigator in the BECC (Biodiversity and Ecosystem services in a Changing Climate) research group and affiliated with the Pheromone Group and Sensory Biology. His research focuses on insect ecology, particularly chemical signaling in insects, spanning both theoretical and applied questions in pest control. He holds administrative roles as Head of the Functional Zoology Research Unit and chairs the infrastructure group. Education: PhD in Zoology from Lund University (1988), supervised by Jan Löfqvist. His expertise aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable agriculture. Research interests include chemical ecology, insect behavior, and the ecological impact of pest species. He has contributed to 125+ publications, 7 active or completed projects, and supervises students in entomology and related fields. Notable projects include olfaction studies in bark beetles and real-time monitoring of herbivory in forests. He frequently engages in public lectures and international conferences on chemical ecology applications. Collaborations span global institutions, with recent focus on European insect pest dynamics. His work emphasizes practical solutions through pheromone-based pest management strategies, contributing to sustainable agriculture and biodiversity conservation.
