Mark J. VanGessel is a Professor and Extension Specialist in Weed Science and Crop Management at the University of Delaware's College of Agriculture & Natural Resources, Department of Plant & Soil Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Weed Science from North Carolina State University and an M.S. in Weed Science from Michigan State University, with undergraduate studies in Political Science at Hope College. Publications highlight innovations in herbicide application timing for winter wheat, organic rotational no-till systems using cover crops, and quantifying soybean yield losses due to weeds.
