Dr. Jordan Nunan is a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Northampton. He holds a PhD from the University of Portsmouth, funded by CREST, focusing on intelligence elicitation from Covert Human Intelligence Sources (CHIS). His research interests include rapport-building, investigative interviewing, and CHIS recruitment strategies. He serves as National Coordinator for the NPCC Intelligence Practice Research Consortium (IPRC) and advises the National Crime Agency’s HUMINT Academic Hub. Education: PhD: 'Developing an Evidenced-Based Approach to Enhance the Collection of Intelligence from Covert Human Intelligence Sources' (University of Portsmouth, 2020) Master: Crime Science, Intelligence, and Investigations (2016) Bachelor: Criminology with Psychology (University of Portsmouth, 2015) Research Interests: Dr. Nunan’s work focuses on psychological aspects of intelligence collection, including rapport dynamics, questioning techniques, and CHIS motivation. He has collaborated with law enforcement agencies to develop practical frameworks like the FIREPLACES model for informant motivation.
