Dr. Jordan Nunan is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Buckingham (School of Humanities and Social Sciences) and a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Justice at the University of Northampton. He specializes in intelligence elicitation, investigative interviewing, and covert operations. His roles include module leadership for 'The Psychology of Intelligence Elicitation' and 'Major Investigations.'
Education:
- PhD in Psychology from the University of Portsmouth (funded by CREST)
Research Focus: Develops evidence-based methodologies for intelligence gathering from Covert Human Intelligence Sources (CHIS), with emphasis on rapport-building, questioning strategies, and ethical recruitment practices.
Professional Engagement:
- National Coordinator of the NPCC Intelligence Practice Research Consortium (IPRC)
- Academic Advisor to the National Crime Agency’s HUMINT Academic Hub
- Organizes conferences for law enforcement practitioners
Law Enforcement Experience: Served as a police officer with Hampshire Constabulary, Metropolitan Police Service, and Cambridgeshire Constabulary. Roles included detective work in Domestic Abuse and Serious Crime units, and membership of London’s West End Proactive Team.
