Klara Arnberg is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economic History and International Relations, Stockholm University. Her research focuses on the intersection of business history, consumption, gender/sexuality history, and media history. She has explored market segmentation, shop window displays, World War II consumer culture, and business histories of pornography and advertising. Research Projects: Currently leading "The Defense of Consumption: Advertising, gender and citizenship in Sweden during World War II" (Swedish Research Council funded) and researching "Transbordering Business: passenger ferries as enactments of consumption" (Jan Wallander and Tom Hedelius foundation). Teaching: Courses include "Gendering Global Political Economy" and "Qualitative Methods" at both undergraduate and master's levels. Publications: 2025 works examine gender in advertising and market segmentation. 2024 studies analyze consumer patriotism in wartime Sweden and post-war Baltic ferry business. Earlier works (2015-2021) cover Nordic gender economics, pornography markets, and historical consumer segmentation.
