Jordi Cabot is an FNR Pearl Chair and Head of the Software Engineering RDI Unit at the ITIS Department of the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). He is also an Affiliate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Luxembourg. Previously, he held roles including Research Professor at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (UOC, Spain), Visiting Professor at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, and Associate Professor at École des Mines de Nantes. His research focuses on systems and software engineering, emphasizing the use of rigorous software models while addressing human dynamics in projects. Key areas include pragmatic formal verification, open source communities, open data exploitation, and AI's role in software development. He has co-founded two startups and led the SOM Research Lab at UOC. His work extends beyond academia through open-source tools and technology transfer. He has held prestigious positions such as an Inria International Chair and postdoctoral roles at the University of Toronto, Politecnico di Milano, and Technical University of Catalonia. Award highlights include the FNR Pearl Chair. Cabot’s contributions span R&D strategic advising, exploratory research for industry, and keynote speaking engagements. His initiatives aim to leverage all tools for creating 'Better Software Faster.'
