Marina Buzzoni is a Full Professor at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, affiliated with the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies. She serves as President of the Council of the University Library System and Rector's Delegate. Her research focuses on Germanic philology, historical linguistics, and digital humanities, with expertise in textual criticism and cultural heritage preservation. Buzzoni leads projects such as the digital edition of the Edictum Rothari and the Marco Polo manuscripts. She contributes to editorial boards for journals like Filologie medievali e moderne and the Handbook of Stemmatology . Her teaching includes courses on Germanic philology, historical linguistics, and digital tools for textual analysis. Recent publications (2024–2025) highlight work on Longobard legal terminology, digital critical editions, and cultural heritage projects. Buzzoni collaborates with institutions like the Swiss National Science Foundation and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). She has secured funding for initiatives such as the ATLAS of Italian Digital Humanities (PRIN 2022) and CHANGES-CREST (EU PNRR).
