Christy Olezeski, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine and Director of the Yale Pediatric Gender Program (YPGP), an interdisciplinary program providing comprehensive care to transgender and gender-expansive youth. Her work focuses on trauma-informed care, psychosexual development, and gender development, with a commitment to addressing health disparities and advancing gender-affirming practices. She mentors students across multiple disciplines, including Psychiatry, Public Health, and Divinity. Dr. Olezeski’s educational background includes a PhD from the University of Albany and postdoctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. She has been recognized with awards such as the 2024 Connecticut Psychological Association Community Partnership Award for her contributions to transgender healthcare. Her research spans topics like medical ethics, mental health equity, and the impact of stigma on transgender youth. She co-leads YPGP, serving families across Connecticut and beyond, emphasizing family-centered, evidence-based care. Her recent publications address gender-affirming care evidence, combating healthcare disinformation, and improving accessibility in pediatric mental health settings. Dr. Olezeski advocates for systemic changes to support LGBTQ+ youth, integrating clinical practice, education, and advocacy.
