Esli Struys is a Professor in the Linguistics and Literature Studies school at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, affiliated with the Brussels Center for Language Studies. She maintains an active research profile with numerous current projects extending through 2029 and recent publications in 2025. Her primary research interests include Language, Multilingualism, Language Policy, Psycholinguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Language Control, CLIL, Primary Progressive Aphasia, and Child Language Development. Dr. Struys leads multiple significant research projects including FWOWO44 (Scientific research network Primary Progressive Aphasia, 2025-2029), FWOTM1246 (The influence of language control on second language acquisition, 2024-2028), and SRP88 (Meertalige taalcontrole, 2022-2027). She actively supervises students, having served as supervisor for Liazos, A.'s Master's thesis in 2017 and as a member of PhD committees. Her research group produces datasets related to language processing, multilingualism, and educational outcomes.
