Gemma Bivia Roig is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy at CEU Cardenal Herrera University, Faculty of Experimental and Health Sciences. She holds a multidisciplinary academic background in Biology, Physiotherapy, and Osteopathic Manual Therapy, and earned her PhD in 2016 from the same institution. She has been a full-time faculty member since 2009 and continues to teach courses in Biomechanics and Ergonomics, Physiotherapy in Clinical Specialties, and Specific Methods of Physiotherapy Intervention. Education: Biology, University of Valencia (2003) Diploma in Physiotherapy, CEU Cardenal Herrera University (2007) – Extraordinary End-of-Degree Award, Best Academic Record, Academic Performance Award (Generalitat Valenciana), Third National End-of-Degree Award Degree in Physiotherapy, CEU San Pablo University (2012) Master's in Physiotherapy Care in Physical Activity and Sport (2009) Master's in Osteopathic Manual Therapy (2011) PhD, CEU Cardenal Herrera University (2016) Her research focuses on women's health, particularly lumbar biomechanics during pregnancy and non-invasive interventions for pain reduction. She integrates biomechanical analysis with clinical physiotherapy, emphasizing ergonomics, manual therapy, and exercise-based rehabilitation. Her work bridges academic instruction with practical clinical applications, especially in maternal health and musculoskeletal disorders. The majority of her recent publications explore biomechanical adaptations in pregnancy, effectiveness of manual and exercise therapies, and ergonomic education. These articles span disciplines including physiotherapy, biomechanics, ergonomics, and women's health, with methodologies ranging from randomized trials to systematic reviews and longitudinal studies. Scientific Awards and Recognitions: Extraordinary End-of-Degree Award Best Academic Record, Faculty of Experimental and Health Sciences Academic Performance Award, Generalitat Valenciana Third National End-of-Degree Award Six-year research period recognized by ANEP Gemma Bivia Roig has supervised multiple undergraduate and master’s theses and has been Principal Investigator on research projects funded by the Generalitat Valenciana (GV/2020/133, CIGE/2022/178) and a clinical research project. She actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for several scientific journals and participates in both public and private research initiatives. She is affiliated with research teams focusing on musculoskeletal health and rehabilitation, with ongoing work in clinical interventions for pregnant women. Her future research aims to expand evidence-based physiotherapy protocols for maternal biomechanics and pain management.
