Dr. Vladica Miјailović is a Full Professor at the Department of Electrical Power Engineering, Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak, University of Kragujevac, Serbia. His academic career spans over three decades with significant contributions to power systems engineering and electrical distribution networks. B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (1991) M.Sc. (1995) Ph.D. (1999) Professor Miјailović specializes in power systems reliability and modern maintenance techniques. His research focuses on high-voltage engineering, electrical distribution systems, and renewable energy integration. He has made significant contributions to understanding components of high-voltage switchgears, reliability of electrical distribution systems, and monitoring and diagnostics of power equipment. His work bridges theoretical research with practical applications in the energy sector, particularly in power plants and renewable energy resources. His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on modern power system challenges, particularly the integration of distributed energy resources into existing grids. There's a clear trend toward analyzing the impact of renewable energy sources on grid stability, developing methods for calculating short-circuit currents in networks with distributed generation, and optimizing distribution networks for improved reliability and efficiency. His work increasingly addresses the transition toward sustainable energy systems and the technical challenges associated with this transition. Professor Miјailović has led and participated in numerous research projects focused on power system reliability, maintenance optimization, and distribution network analysis. These projects have been conducted in collaboration with industry partners including ETI "Nikola Tesla" and Elektrosrbija, demonstrating the practical application of his research. His work has significantly influenced maintenance practices and reliability assessment methodologies in the Serbian power sector.
