Astrid Wirth is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Early Childhood Education at the Department of Education, University of Vienna. Her research program centers on foundational childhood development with particular emphasis on: Home literacy environments and emergent literacy skills Socio-emotional development through reading interventions Digital learning applications for kindergarten skill-building She currently leads the European Research Council (ERC) project 'Learning4Kids' investigating technology-enhanced learning in early education. Her doctoral work examined reading aloud's impact on socio-emotional development.
