Roger Gläser is a Professor of Technical Chemistry at the University of Leipzig, specializing in Heterogeneous Catalysis . He has served as Director of the Institute of Technical Chemistry since 2007 and held leadership roles such as Head of the Graduate Center for Mathematics/Computer Science and Natural Sciences (2012–2014), Vice Dean (2016–2019), and Dean (2019–2022) of the Faculty of Chemistry and Mineralogy. Professor, Technical Chemistry (Heterogeneous Catalysis), University of Leipzig (since 2007) Director, Institute of Technical Chemistry (since 2007) Prorektor for Talent Development (since 2022) His research focuses on catalytic processes for sustainable energy conversion, zeolite-based materials, and biomass valorization. Recent projects include CO2-to-methanol hydrogenation and microimaging of zeolite crystal diffusion mechanisms, funded by DFG and AiF. Gläser actively contributes to scientific governance as Chair of the German Catalysis Society (GeCatS), member of the DFG Review Board, and Treasurer of the Federation of European Zeolite Associations (FEZA). He leads the NFDI4Cat initiative for catalysis data infrastructure.
