Nicolas Wyrsch is a Researcher at the Laboratory of Photovoltaics and Electronic Thin Films (PV-LAB) within the School of Engineering (STI) at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He holds a dual role as a lecturer for a course on 'Large-area electronics: Materials and devices.' His career includes a PhD from the University of Neuchâtel in 1991 and post-doctoral research at Princeton University. Wyrsch leads research in particle sensors, photovoltaic module efficiency, energy system digitalization, grid integration of renewables, and electric mobility infrastructure. He has authored/co-authored over 200 publications and advised numerous PhD students. Education: Physics diploma (ETH Zurich, 1984), PhD (University of Neuchâtel, 1991). Research Interests : Particle detection technologies, photovoltaic systems optimization, energy grid modernization, and sustainable mobility solutions. His work bridges material science, electronics, and energy policy to address global sustainability challenges.
