Dr. Sander Zwanenburg is a Senior Lecturer in Business Information Systems at Curtin University's School of Management and Marketing, within the Faculty of Business and Law. He holds an honorary appointment at the University of Otago, New Zealand, and serves as Secretary of the Australasian Association for Information Systems. He earned his BSc and MSc in Economics and Business from the University of Groningen (Netherlands) and his PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on the psychology of personal IT use, particularly interruptions, attention, and conflicted behavior. He also develops methodological tools to overcome research obstacles. His work spans premier journals and conferences, emphasizing interdisciplinary measurement, digital distractions, and technology ethics. He actively contributes to teaching through case-method pedagogy across disciplines, including the Centre for Aboriginal Studies and Science and Engineering. Dr. Zwanenburg's recent studies include analyzing hybrid conference impacts, chatbot-driven motivation during pandemics, and children's digital screen time. His work on interdisciplinarity metrics and AR ethics bridges technical and ethical dimensions of technology. He collaborates with global teams, as seen in the Kids Online Aotearoa study. His academic leadership roles and methodological rigor underscore his contributions to the field.
