Professor Trevor Cadden is a Professor of Operations Management at Ulster University Business School, Department of Management, Leadership & Marketing. He also serves as a Visiting Professor at Ajman University in the United Arab Emirates. With extensive expertise in supply chain management and operations, Professor Cadden has established himself as a leading academic and practitioner in his field, contributing significantly to both theoretical knowledge and practical applications. Professor Cadden holds a PhD in 'The influence of organisational culture on strategic supply chain relationship success: symbiosis in action' (2013), a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice (2007), and a Bachelor's degree in Business Studies specializing in Operations Management (1995). He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Centre for Higher Education and Research Practice, and a Certified Management & Business Educator with the Chartered Association of Business Schools. Professor Cadden's research focuses on critical areas of modern supply chain management, including digital transformation, Big Data Analytics, digital technology adoption, organizational culture, innovation, and environmental practices. His work bridges academic theory with practical business applications, particularly in the context of SMEs and cross-border operations. He has made significant contributions to understanding how digital technologies can enhance supply chain resilience and performance, with particular relevance to post-Brexit economic conditions in Ireland and Northern Ireland. His recent publications demonstrate increasing focus on green supply chain management, corporate social responsibility in SMEs, and the impact of digital technologies on operational performance. Professor Cadden leads impactful research teams focusing on supply chain innovation and digital transformation. His projects often involve cross-institutional and international collaboration, such as the North South Shared Island initiative and European-funded projects.
