Linda Tucker, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Botany and Program Director of Wildlife Biology at Keystone College, located in the Turock School of Arts and Sciences. Her academic career spans diverse disciplines including computer science, English, information technology, and anthropology before settling in environmental sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from Oregon State University (2021), alongside a Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching and certifications from the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL). Bachelor's: Environmental Biology, Keystone College (2013) Master's: Biology, Bloomsburg University (2015) Her research focuses on invasive species' ecological impacts, particularly shrubs like Japanese Knotweed and Amur Honeysuckle, as well as non-native earthworms. She examines how these species alter ecosystem properties, community composition, and soil nutrient dynamics, with recent work leveraging citizen science data for predictive modeling. Teaching is a cornerstone of her career, with courses including Introduction to Field Biology, Botany, Dendrology, and Stream Ecology. She actively seeks innovative methods to engage students and enhance pedagogy. Grants: Includes a $23,730 grant from PA DCNR for modeling Trollius laxus habitat suitability and a $12,500 award from the Agricultural Research Foundation for earthworm studies in Oregon.
