Ken S. Wong is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical and Health Economics at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy. He serves as Director of the USC Mann Division of Healthcare and Biopharmaceutical Business, which oversees the Healthcare Decision Analysis and Biopharmaceutical Marketing graduate programs. Dr. Wong is also a Senior Scholar at the USC Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics. Dr. Wong received his PharmD from the University of Southern California, MPH from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and Bachelor's degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. Prior to his academic career, he held leadership positions at Novartis Pharmaceuticals as director of health economics and outcomes research and director of managed healthcare, and previously held pharmacy leadership roles at Cigna, Caremark, HealthNet and UniHealth. He also served as an accreditation surveyor for the Joint Commission. His research focuses on innovations in healthcare access and pharmaceutical pricing, with expertise spanning Innovative Care Delivery Models, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Managed Care, Market Access & Reimbursement, and Innovative Pricing Models. His scholarly work examines medication adherence, blood pressure control, healthcare decision analysis, and the economic impact of pharmaceutical treatments, particularly in chronic disease management. Dr. Wong has published extensively from 2006-2019 with research spanning hypertension management, diabetes care, COPD treatment, and healthcare systems analysis. His publications demonstrate a consistent focus on the intersection of pharmaceuticals, economics, and patient outcomes, with particular attention to care management processes, medication adherence, and healthcare policy implications. As an educator, Dr. Wong plays a key role in developing and leading graduate programs that prepare students for careers in healthcare decision analysis and biopharmaceutical marketing, bridging the gap between academic research and industry practice. His leadership in the Division of Healthcare and Biopharmaceutical Business has established USC as a center for innovative research in pharmaceutical economics and healthcare policy.
