Marina da Rosa Kaizer is an Associate Professor in Advanced Restorative Dentistry at Charles Sturt University’s Centre for Dentistry and Oral Health in Australia. She serves as an Associate Editor for Heliyon and a Board Member for the Brazilian Group of Dental Materials. Her academic career spans institutions in Brazil and the USA, including Universidade Federal de Pelotas, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, and New York University College of Dentistry. PhD in Dentistry (2015), Universidade Federal de Pelotas Master’s in Dental Sciences (2010), Universidade Federal de Santa Maria Post-Graduation in Restorative Dentistry (2009), Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul BDS (2004), Universidade Federal de Santa Maria Her research focuses on the wear, fatigue, fracture mechanics, and optical/bonding properties of restorative dental materials, particularly CAD/CAM technologies and translucent zirconia. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and trained numerous honours, master’s, and PhD students. Recent publications highlight trends in zirconia bonding , 3D finite element analysis of restorations, and mechanical/optical characterization of novel dental composites. Her work bridges clinical dentistry and materials science. Recipient of the Academy of Dental Materials Paffenbarger (2015) and Marshalls (2018) awards Recipient of multiple Angelus Awards and Dean’s Awards for research excellence Marina mentors early-career researchers, including Julia Eick Iglesias and Faisal Rehan , through the Conscia Research Mentoring Program . She also engages in peer review for journals like Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Part C and Australian Dental Journal .
