Devid Falliano is a Fixed-term Assistant Professor in the Department of Structural, Geotechnical and Building Engineering (DISEG) at Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo), where he contributes to both research and teaching in civil engineering and architecture. His work is centered on advanced construction materials, particularly foamed concrete and 3D-printable lightweight concrete, with applications in sustainable and digital construction. His research interests include: Mechanics of Solids and Structures 3D Concrete Printing and Additive Manufacturing Foamed and Lightweight Concrete Development Material Durability and Structural Performance Sustainable Construction through Waste Valorization Geopolymer and Alkali-Activated Materials The analysis of his recent publications reveals a consistent focus on improving the mechanical, thermal, and structural performance of foamed concrete, especially through fiber reinforcement, variable density design, and 3D printing applications. His work bridges experimental material testing with innovative construction technologies, aiming to develop multifunctional, eco-friendly building components. Scientific contributions include: Multiple high-impact journal articles in Construction and Building Materials , Composite Structures , and Journal of Building Engineering Patents on additive manufacturing and alkaline activation of dredged sediments Leadership in competitive and industry-funded research projects He supervises PhD students such as Silvia Parmigiani and Peng Shi, guiding research on 3D-printing with foamed concrete and geopolymer variants. He is also involved in teaching across civil engineering, architecture, and design programs at PoliTo, particularly in structural theory and construction science courses. His work is supported by both academic and industrial collaborations, positioning him at the forefront of innovation in sustainable structural materials.
