Professor Edward Anderson is a Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford and a Tutorial Fellow in Chemistry at Jesus College. He holds a BA in Chemistry from Magdalen College, Oxford (1993-1997), followed by a PhD from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge (1997-2001). His postdoctoral research included positions at The Scripps Research Institute (2001-2003) and the University of Cambridge (2003-2007). Since 2007, he has been an EPSRC Advanced Research Fellow at Oxford. His research focuses on synthetic organic chemistry, emphasizing the development of new synthetic methods, complexity-inducing reactions (e.g., cascade processes), and total synthesis of bioactive molecules. These methods aim to streamline chemical processes by integrating multiple steps into single reactions. As a Fellow and Tutor at Jesus College, he contributes to undergraduate teaching in organic chemistry. His academic leadership includes roles as a Tutorial Fellow and Departmental Professor. Professor Anderson’s awards include the EPSRC Advanced Research Fellowship. While no specific grants or lab teams are detailed here, his research group likely advances methodologies with applications in medicinal chemistry.
