Lucas Seehafer serves as an Assistant Professor and Exercise Science department chair at Bethany Lutheran College. He holds a BA in Exercise Science from Bethany Lutheran College, Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota, MA in Journalism from the University of Alabama, and Ph.D. in Kinesiology from Concordia University, St. Paul. His research focuses on injury occurrence and risk mitigation, strength and conditioning, anatomy, and health science communication. Dr. Seehafer's work bridges clinical practice with academic research, particularly in sports medicine and rehabilitation contexts. His interdisciplinary background combines exercise science, physical therapy, journalism, and kinesiology to create a unique perspective on human movement and health. His recent publications demonstrate expertise in sports injury epidemiology, rehabilitation assessment techniques, and multi-system approaches to human movement after injury. His research spans clinical assessment methods, post-injury recovery systems, and professional sports injury patterns. Professional Certifications: Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (ABPTS) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) Certification in Dry Needling (AAMT) Blood Flow Restriction Certification (Owen's Recovery Science) Dr. Seehafer teaches 13 diverse courses including Human Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, Health Communication, and Strength and Conditioning. His teaching integrates biological sciences with communication theory in health and exercise contexts. He serves on the IRB Committee and is active in professional organizations including the American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association, and Human Anatomy & Physiology Society.
