Prof. Bedir Tekinerdogan is a full professor and chair of the Information Technology group at Wageningen University. With over 25 years of experience, he holds a PhD and MSc from the University of Twente. Previously, he was at Bilkent University (2003–2015), where he founded the Bilkent Software Engineering Group. His roles include academic leadership, research, and industry collaboration across domains like automotive systems, cyber-physical systems, and AI. Education: - MSc (1994), PhD (2000) in Computer Science, University of Twente. Research Interests: Focuses on software engineering fundamentals, AI-driven systems, and interdisciplinary approaches to solve industrial challenges. Specializes in software architecture design, model-driven engineering, global software development, and systems engineering. Combines expertise in machine learning, cloud computing, and enterprise systems to address complex technical and organizational problems. Teaching & Mentorship: Developed over 20 academic courses and trained professionals globally. Supervised >25 PhD and >80 MSc students. Active as a reviewer for journals and international projects. Professional Activities: - Board member of Agromatics Society (agro-informatics). - Member of VERSEN (Dutch Software Engineering Association). - Involved in initiatives like World Alliance on Digitalization for Disaster Management (WADDEM) and AMS Institute for metropolitan solutions. Projects: Leads/engaged in projects like INREF Smart-In-Ag (SMART farming in Indonesia), VIRAL (ICT in agricultural learning), and IoF2020 (IoT in agrifood sectors).
