Isaac Sorkin is an Associate Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Economics at Stanford University, where he holds additional appointments as Trione Faculty Scholar and Gordon and Dailey Pattee Endowed Faculty Fellow. His primary research examines labor market dynamics, wage determination, and economic inequality. Professor Sorkin's work bridges labor economics and macroeconomics, with specific focus areas including: Labor market frictions and search behavior Firm dynamics and worker reallocation Wage inequality and distributional outcomes Applied econometric methods Policy evaluation of labor market interventions His recent publications demonstrate innovative approaches to measuring market concentration effects on wages, analyzing racial disparities in employment trajectories, and evaluating minimum wage policies. Methodologically, he develops and applies structural models and quasi-experimental designs to address identification challenges in labor economics.
