Dr. Joe Larragy is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Social Studies at Maynooth University, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences. He serves as PhD programme co-ordinator and Social Policy subject leader. His academic journey includes a BA Mod in Sociology from Trinity College Dublin, an MA in Social Theory from UCC, and a PhD in Social Policy from UCD.
His research focuses on Social Policy and Ageing, Third Sector dynamics, volunteering, and state-civil society interactions.
