Professor Gary Burnett is a senior academic specializing in Human Factors/Human-Computer Interaction, currently serving as Professor of Digital Creativity at Loughborough University's School of Design and Creative Arts. Previously, he held roles at Loughborough University (1992-2000) and the University of Nottingham, where he led the Human Factors Research Group within the Faculty of Engineering until 2023. His research focuses on Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design for future vehicles, leveraging advanced technologies like Augmented Reality (AR), gesture-based interaction, and conversational AI. He also pioneers the use of Metaverse and Extended Reality (XR) in higher education, designing immersive virtual teaching environments.
