Zvi Ben-Dor Benite is a Professor in the Department of History and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies at New York University's College of Arts and Science. He also serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Global Network Faculty Planning, overseeing faculty hiring and assignments across NYU's global sites in Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, and other locations.

His research interests encompass African Diaspora, Global History, Early Modern and Modern Chinese History, Asian and European Islam, and the intersection of Religion and World History. He has also explored topics like the History of Geography and Arab-Jewish and Mizrahi History.
Zvi’s recent publications focus on interfaith dialogues, particularly between Muslims and Jesuits in early modern China, and examine cultural exchanges across Islamic and Chinese societies. His work highlights the role of religion in shaping global historical narratives.
