Zsombor Tóth-Vajna is a Research Fellow and Royal College of Music Studentship holder specializing in the performance practice of Restoration period keyboard music, particularly the works of John Blow and Henry Purcell, alongside North-German organ music. His research also explores mental health and music therapy's role in composer studies. He holds dual degrees in harpsichord/organ performance (summa cum laude) from the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, and medicine from Semmelweis University. As a performer, he is a leading early keyboard specialist, conductor, and co-founder of the Hungarian Baroque orchestra Harmonia Caelestis. He has recorded seven solo albums and collaborates with his twin brother Gergely as the Piano e Forte Duo.
His academic roles include guest teaching at the Ferenc Liszt Academy and doctoral supervision at the Royal College of Music under Professors Ingrid Pearson and Terence Charlston. Notable accolades include the prestigious Hungarian Bach Prize (2019) and multiple grants recognizing his talent. His artistic philosophy emphasizes mediating between composer intent and audience through personalized interpretation, prioritizing the universal communicative power of music.
