Zoë Becvarik is a PhD Candidate and Researcher at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health at the Australian National University. Her research focuses on climatic and behavioral risk factors associated with climate-sensitive zoonoses in Australia, aiming to inform public health guidance. Prior to her PhD, she completed a Master of Public Health (Advanced) and a Bachelor of Health Science at ANU, with her MPH thesis examining temperature effects on zoonotic pathogens in livestock and wildlife.
Currently, she assists Associate Professor Aparna Lal in developing methodologies to identify health co-benefits of household energy interventions in collaboration with the ACT Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate. Her affiliations include the Centre of Epidemiology for Policy and Practice and the Infectious Diseases and Modelling group. She previously worked with Dr. Zoe Levison on social psychological responses to climate change and wellbeing implications of collective action.
